Roller peel test according to DIN EN 1464

The roller peel test according to DIN EN 1464 is a test to determine the peel resistance of bondings. In this test, two test specimens to be joined are bonded together, whereby one joining partner must be flexible. This is pulled off over a deflection roller at a defined angle by means of a tensile testing machine. The force required for this pull-off in connection with the specimen width results in the peel resistance. Furthermore, this test provides a fracture pattern that can be used to determine the type of failure of the bond (cohesion fracture, adhesion fracture,…) according to DIN EN ISO 10365.
