DSC on polymers according to ASTM D3418-15

Thermal analysis provides a rapid method for measuring transitions due to morphological or chemical changes in a polymer when heated / cooled over a specific temperature range. Differential scanning calorimetry is used to assist in the identification of specific polymers, polymer alloys and certain polymer additives. This test method includes the determination of transition temperatures and enthalpies of melting and crystallisation. This test method is applicable to polymers in granular form or to any manufactured form from which suitable samples can be cut.
