Determination of Charpy impact properties according to DIN EN ISO 179-1

Method for determining the Charpy impact strength of plastics.
Used to assess the brittleness or toughness.
The method is suitable for the following material groups:
– rigid, thermoplastic injection moulding and extrusion moulding compounds, as well as sheets made of rigid thermoplastics
– rigid thermosetting moulding compounds, as well as sheets made of rigid thermosets
– fibre-reinforced thermoset and thermoplastic composites or composite sheets made of pre-impregnated materials (prepregs)
– themotropic liquid crystalline polymers
